I considered calling the post March Madness but... I know enough about sports to know better. Don't want to get the writing post confused with a basketball tournament. So, I have been pondering a month topic and I think I found a fun one to start things off.
Mayhem!

Yes, mayhem, madness, bedlam, *looks in thesaurus*, chaos, tumult, turmoil, pandemonium, havoc, maelstrom... and you get the basic idea. I'm going to post a few different entries during march about the crazy bad things that can happen in stories, those dark moments that intensify the plot and drive the story plummeting forward.
Sounds fun right? I hope so. Nothing like a good month of madness and bedlam to drive this blog forward. hehehe

Cannot think of any mayhem at the moment. Maybe later.
I like to think I've a little touch of madness in every story... and day.
If I get frustrated or stuck in a part of my story, I'll toss in the bedlam. I'll usually take writing advice literally at that stage 'when things get slow, introduce a mad man with a gun'. Check. 'Put your characters up a tree, then throw rocks at them.' Check.
Looking forward to March now, let the whacky begin.

Charmaine Clancy - madness is fun in real life too. I've never done the "have a bomb explode" one that many mention because it never fits the story, but one of these days...
hEE hEE dAWN. I'm going to get stuck into a little March Mayhem with writing my first murder story for RFW. I've already got ideas tumbling around. I'll be looking forward to seeing what mayhem raises its head on your blog.
